Tropical rainforests cover a massive amount of the world’s tree surface, each year over 23,3098 km of the forests are harvested for human use. This has worried environmentalists because of the release of carbon from vegetation. Human activity in the tropical rainforest has allowed for the discovery of many different types of medicine, nearly 120 medications today are derived from plants in the rainforest.2 out of 3 of the medicine are known to have cancer-fighting properties and can also fight malaria, heart diseases and many more. But there are also negative impacts to the tropical rainforest such as deforestation which has led to the depletion of habitat for many species. Environmentalists estimate that we are losing 137 plants, animals every day due to rainforest deforestation. The economic development in these areas are polluting tropical rainforests, reducing the habitat of numerous species and producing loud and disturbing loud noises from the machinery.
